Anyone who has ever developed an interest in herbs and has started to explore their amazing qualities and histories, will know what a vast wealth of knowledge there is to uncover. Rather than bring you a scanty look at the many herbs and plants that most gardeners grow and know how to use, we decided to look at a few in-depth. 

These plants are common, easy to grow and perhaps undervalued in the average garden.  We hope you learn as you read as we did in putting these pages together.  If you decide to rush out and try the plants listed here and use them as suggested, we'd love to hear of your experiences and perhaps incorporate your findings in the pages. 

I wrote up these pages, but most of the research was done by Robin Somes who has a wealth of knowledge and a whole library of books and other material on the plants covered.   We are very grateful for his assistance, and also for the additional research and material provided by Jane Hammes and Brenda Varley. As with so many things, too much of a good thing is not always advisable.  

Visitors should be aware that any herb consumed in large quantities could have an adverse effect.  Where we are aware of particular health concerns over certain plants we have noted them on the appropriate page.  However, we cannot accept liability for any adverse reactions that individuals may suffer as a result of using the treatments and preparations described here - you do so at your own risk.
