as some on here know ive had the fortune to have a number of hedgies living in my garden since i rescued one 3 years ago and they in turn have kept me amussed many an evening ,and of keeping the garden free of many pest, how ever i want to find out [probably fron david ] as they suffer from lung worm and the like is there a pill / powder i could mix in with thier food when they re emerge from thier sleep, to stop or assist them with this parasite ? . also i am now a cafe stop for a fox they used to go as far as the house two doors down where my mother used to put food out for them , however since she died at christmas he/she has decided that i am as easy a touch as she was and after he/she had put my outside light on a couple of times and stood there waiting i had relented and placed some extra food out, he now seems to come round on a regular basis. what with the fox ,hedgies and the birds including a sparrow hawk that come's fairly often you'd think i live in the middle of the country in a mansion , but youd be wrong i live just out side the busy town centre although its only a couple of miles to the rural areas

David aka Hedgehog, an OGGie who runs a hedgehog sanctuary, is likely to see your post Keith and will be able to give some advice.

A lot of hedgehogs have worms Keith, it can make them very poorly and will kill them, I treat mine at the end of the year, or early Spring, I lock them in the hog shelter one at a time where they come to feed and part of the garden, I treat them with panacur for five days, then open the shutter, and bring the next one in, you must make sure your hoggy has not had babes before keeping them for a few days, I know mine have no babes as I watch them on live cam, and they use the boxes in the shelter every night, if they had babes I would see them leave to feed them.
I too live in the center of town and have had a fox visit, also caught two polecats a few years ago.
Last year I had a poor year for hedgehogs, only one visitor, I usually have around seven visiting.
