| This forum looks interesting and I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of people. I love gardening and have all kinds of plants. My Hubby and I were on a Garden Tour to UK in 2006. We visited Kew, Wisley, Sissinghurst and several private gardens etc. and of course the Chelsea Flower Show it was awesome!! clara |

| Hi Clara39, I'd love to be able to do that too, but I'm a bit too far away; where do you live? in the UK? My dream has always been to visit England in the spring & I greedily chase up anything about the UK parks & gardens on Sky TV especially Escape to the Country, Gardener's World & everything else I can find; I like painting flower pieces in watercolour & enjoy Botanical drawing/painting; Judy chook | |

| Hi Judy, no I am not in UK , I live in Ontario , Canada. In 2004 my Hubby and I went with a tour to Australia and New Zealand. You have a beautiful country ! I especially admired the blue Agapanthus that grow along the roadside. I have that plant growing in a pot and bring it in for the winter to store in the basement. You must be an artist . I think water colour painting is a real talent. I'm sure your painting are very pretty. clara |

| Hi Clara, welcome to OGG, i'm from Holland. Here the snow just melted and the temps are getting above zero. The snowdrops are blooming but nature seems still asleep, but slowly we're moving to spring. | |

| Thanks Paulien, for the welcome, we have a nice spring-like day but still lots of snow . Here in Ontario we can still get cold weather and more snow till end of March and sometimes into April. How nice for you to have snowdrops blooming. I forced some bulbs and now have Tulips, Glory of the Snow and Amaryllis in bloom in our sunroom. It will be a while till we have them blooming in the garden. clara |

| Hi Clara39, I'm glad you've been to Australia; where did you Visit? I live in the wet tropics of Queensland; too hot here at the moment & the recent rains have made it very humid; I too love the blue agapanthus, I grew up with them & they are one of favourite flowers. Unfortunately it's hard to get them to flower in the wet tropics; I'm battling with some dwarf ones in a pot at the mo. so wish me luck! | |

| My e-mail to you did not go through so this will be a shorter version. We were in Melbourne (gardens and market) Sydney (Opera House and Botanical Gardens ) Brisbane , Cairns ( glass bottom boat tour on Great Barrier Reef to Green Island) then flew to NZ via Sidney. Both countries are different but very beautiful!! We have many good memories from that tour. Clara PS: My Agapanthus was so pot-bound so last spring I devided it into 4 pots. The plant did not bloom last summer but hope it will have blooms again this summer. Good Luck with yours!! |

| Hi Chris,, I would think that to work at the RHS would be a very pleasant job. Anything that has to do with gardening is certainly enjoyable! What event are we attending next? Well, on the weekend we attended our local "Garden Festival " but if you are referring to traveling,,,Hubby and I were on a Garden Tour to Ecuador from Jan 7 - 18 2010 ..it was wonderful to see private gardens, a Rose plantation, an Orchid plantation and more. | Hello Pete,,fine days indeed. We are having very nice sunny days with temp. 9 C today . Its unusual for us to have such mild weather in mid-March. We still have lots of snow but it won't last long. Until then , I will enjoy my indoor garden in the sunroom and the plant room in the basement where I have lots of seedlings started. Clara |

| Hi Clara - Yes working for the RHS is great, it doesn't really feel like work when you're doing something that you love! We're doing lots around Biodiversity at the moment so feel free to contact me with any questions. Have a great weekend. Chris |

| hey Chris, I have a question, Do you know the Botanical name for the "Whistle" plant ? When we were in Austria back in the yr. 2000 a guide took us on a tour through a wonderful woodland garden. We were allowed to take seeds from plants. I am always interested in new and different plants so brought seeds from the whistle plant and have been growing it every year. It is perennial in our climate. Any info you have would be appreciated. Thanks Clara PS: I can post a pic on the Album if you wish |
